Our Purchase Agreement & Guardian Home Program

Our Commitment to Quality Homes for All Dogs

At Megan’s Mini Golden Retrievers, our mission is to create a family-friendly, miniature version of the Golden Retriever with the same temperament and classic look in a smaller package. To achieve this, we’ve developed a thoughtful breeding program that focuses on quality, ethical practices, and a loving environment for each dog.

Guardian Home Program

To provide the best possible homes for our breeding dogs, we place many of them in carefully chosen guardian homes. In this program, qualified families can receive one of our breeding dogs for free, with the understanding that we retain breeding rights. Here’s what that means:

Free Placement: Our breeding dogs are placed at no initial cost to the guardian family.

Retained Breeding Rights: While the dog lives full-time with the guardian family as a loved pet, we reserve the right to breed the dog in accordance with our program. This arrangement allows us to develop and refine our breed while ensuring our dogs live in a stable, loving home environment.

Guardian Family Role: Guardian families care for the dog as their own and collaborate with us for specific breeding-related needs. This involves occasional check-ins, visits for breeding purposes, and adherence to our care guidelines.

By participating in this program, you’re not only gaining a wonderful companion, but also supporting our efforts to responsibly develop this miniature Golden Retriever line.

Puppy Placement in Family Homes

Not every puppy in our breeding program will meet the exact traits we’re working to maintain. Puppies that do not align with our breeding standards will be placed in loving family homes as companion pets. These puppies are healthy, friendly, and will make great additions to family life—they just don’t meet the specific characteristics we require for breeding purposes.  

Prices range from $500-$1000 depending on the generation and characteristics.

Our Purchase Agreement

Every family adopting from us—whether through the guardian program or for a family pet—will enter into a purchase agreement. This agreement covers:

Health Guarantee: We guarantee the health of each puppy at the time of adoption, with recommendations for ongoing care and vaccination schedules.

Spay/Neuter Requirement: For family pets (those not part of our breeding program), we ask that owners spay or neuter their dog at the appropriate age.

Commitment to Quality Homes: We want our puppies and dogs to be a cherished part of each family’s life. Our agreement ensures that each dog is placed into a home that can provide the love, care, and commitment they deserve.
